How to Wear a Dress with a Dress

Happy Thanksgiving Week! There is so much to be thankful for. I have been meditating the last few days on how good God has been to me in 2018. I have been able to meet and, in many cases, surpass my goals. I’m thankful for my health, my PhD journey, my friends and family, and the growth of my blogging business. And most importantly— I am thankful to all of you who follow my style blogging journey and return time after time to my little blog!

LAYERED DRESSES

On to the fashion and style stuff! So this week I am wearing a dress with a dress. Yes—you heard that right. I’ve layered two dresses together. The bottom layer is a ribbed, fitted, tank midi dress and the top layer is a button through maxi dress in a satin maxi leopard print. The reason this layered combination works so well is because the outer layer is buttoned all the way down so it can be fully opened and worn as a duster. If you want to recreate this look, it’s easy! You can buy my exact look by clicking on any of the pictures on my blog (see the links below) or make sure you have a form fitted dress for the bottom layer, and then a loose fitting dress that unbuttons in the front for the top layer. Its that easy! You may already have these pieces in your closet too!

ACCESSORIES & BOOTIES

The SUGARFIX brand at Target has been my favorite for accessories lately. There are so many statement pieces in fun colors. I am keeping it basic with black, but the ball embellishments speak volumes and add detail to this outfit. I’ve had these black velvet booties on repeat for a while. They are perfect for Fall/Winter and they are super cute— so don’t be surprised if they keep popping up!
