How to Start Blogging

If you are reading this blog post it is likely because you want to start blogging. Or maybe you started a blog and just can't figure out what to write about or how to be consistent as a blogger. Well, I have good news for you! You are in the right place. In addition to being a Style Blogger, I also provide resources, mentorships, and products for new bloggers and bloggers who are stuck in a rut. There are two things that are absolutely necessary if you are going to step into the blogger world and be successful-- you have to (1) blog consistently and (2) you need content that people want to read and engage with. I have a solution to to both of these things.

BE A CONSISTENT BLOGGER

Being consistent is a major deal for bloggers. If you are not going to keep your blog up you might as well just not have a blog at all. There is nothing worse than going to a blog and seeing that the last blog post was six months ago. If you have developed an audience that is willing to visit your blog then you need to provide them with regular content. What does consistent mean? You need to blog at least 1-2 a week, preferably 2 and if you have been blogging for a while you can up your game to 3 times a week. On average, twice a week is a good number. You also need to pick regular days to post -- for example, I publish a new blog post on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Having consistent publishing days allows your audience to get used to your schedule and know when to expect new content from you. Being consistent is also important if you want to get the attention of advertisers and brands you want to work with.

To be consistent you need a plan. My Blog Planner will help you get organized, stay organized, and plan your blog posts in advance. Scheduling and planning out your blog posts in advance is key to being consistent. The Editorial Checklist Blog Planner is only $24.99 and is something you need if you are serious about being a blogger. Watch my video on how to use the blog planner. I promise it will up your blogging game!

A BLOG NEEDS GOOD CONTENT

The good news is that once you start blogging regularly you will automatically start generating great content on your own. The bad news is when you are just getting started (or when you have stepped away from your blog for awhile) it is hard to come up with blog post topics to write about. Writer's block can be a huge issue for bloggers. I have a digital download that will knock writer's block out! For only $10 (that is less than the cost of two Lattes) you can instantly download 55 Amazing Blog Post Ideas. It consists of blog topic starters that will get you writing blog posts immediately.

The great thing about this download is that there are enough topics to jump start your blog. Whether you are a style blogger, mommy blogger, fitness blogger, business blogger, or any other kind of blogger, these topic starters can be applied to all blog genres. It is guaranteed to get your creative blog juices going and before you know it you will be pumping out amazing content! I have included checklists so you can check off once you have used an idea.

I believe in you and I know you are going to be an awesome blogger! I recommend for all new bloggers to do a 30-day Blog Challenge. This means that you publish a blog post EVERY SINGLE DAY for 30 days straight! No excuses! This will get you used to blogging consistently and grow your blog quickly. Once you are done with the challenge, you can decide what your regular posting schedule will be.
